Community Engagement

Working in New Housing

Over the last 10 years we have been discovering how to effectively engage with our local community, and at the same time realising there is still much to learn! We believe that our presence as a church should positively impact the local community around us, practically, relationally, and spiritually.

We hope to develop, in partnership with our neighbours and friends, community events and groups that will help strengthen the sense of community within the Ebbsfleet housing development. These will include events like The Big Lunch, litter picks, open house coffee mornings, random barbecues, and many other excuses to bring people together and engage with each other and the church.

Our Jesus mission and love for our neighbour can only be expressed as we step out and engage in creative, organic, and most importantly authentic moments of community.
  • Ebbsfleet Community Garden

Part of the Edible Ebbsfleet Project

With the support of the Edible Ebbsfleet Project and Redrow Homes we are launching a small community garden project near Candy Dene Road. We will be growing a variety of vegetables over the year and welcome all from the community to get involved helping plant, care, and eat the produce!

Over the next few months we hope to add a community orchard to the project, and with the support of Redrow Homes should have apples, plums, and pears growing for anyone to pick and enjoy.

If you'd like more information please contact Bart on 07792 596318.

This project was inspired by the Incredible Edible project in the Northen town of Todmorden, where a community was slowly transformed by simply growing food together.

  • Healing on the Streets

Your Kingdom Come on Earth as it is in Heaven

It is our joy to reveal the Kingdom of Jesus by continuing His ministry of healing, transformation, and seeking justice. There are many ways we can demonstrate the kingdom power and love of God with each other and those in our communities, these include: healing ministries, supporting those in poverty, coming alongside the broken hearted, giving people an opportunity to discover thier true identity, finding real purpose, and ultimately a new life in Jesus that goes on forever!

We don't simply offer a 'ticket to heaven', but rather 'heaven on earth', our vocation as Jesus followers is to be a bridge between earth and heaven. Of course this is only possible through the Holy Spirit living within us and our faith filled surrender to Jesus, but as we grow in our love and child like trust we know we will see the Kingdom on earth in all its wonder!

Healing on the Streets is a wonderful way of very simply making the kingdom available to people in the every day situation of the high street on a Saturday morning. Our ministry is very gentle, simple, and authentic... no jostling or hype... but the real thing!
